Welcome to The Park

The Park is one of the largest primary schools in South Gloucestershire with an age range of four to eleven years. We seek to provide an ethos that promotes high standards in learning and behaviour, where the development of the whole child within a broad and balanced curriculum takes place. We work hard to create a sense of community within our school where everyone is valued and plays an important role. We believe strongly in an active partnership between home and school and aim to ensure all those associated with the school realise they are members of a caring community.

Introduction

The Park school is a community school situated at the heart of Kingswood and has been an integral part of the local community since it opened in May 1892. The school moved to a new purpose built building in 2002. The school is set in extensive grounds which are well equipped with shrubs and trees. A car park for staff use only is at the front of the school.
The site has been designed to provide maximum security for children, but in such a way that feels both open and welcoming.
The Park School is designed to enable us to welcome children and adults with physical disabilities. There is a lift and all doors and corridors are able to accommodate wheelchairs. All areas of the school have wheelchair access.

Aims

To help all members of the school community achieve their full potential by:
-Developing lively enquiring minds, life-long learning skills and fit, healthy bodies.
-Fostering friendship, self esteem and pride in themselves and The Park School.
-Teaching children to express themselves clearly and confidently through the study of a broad and balanced curriculum preparing children for life in the 21st Century.
-Showing respect towards and cooperation with all people with in the context of a multicultural society.
-Ensuring individuals have equality of opportunity in all aspects of school life.
-Maintaining an effective partnership between home and school.
-Providing high quality teaching leadership and management in order to provide effective education.
